Express Talk Business edition error 488

I set up my Express Talk softfone yesterday and it was working fine. This morning I turned on the computer and get an error "488 Try again in one minute" message. Below is the log after I try using the setup wizard:

Okay - I can't see what time your Express Talk last registered as I see Zoiper as being the last device connected.

488 is usually seen if the incorrect password is being used. Please ensure the password for the master account has been entered, save the change, shut down Express Talk and restart it.

the 488 error is quite common it seems. I am using expresstalk and occasionally I get the 488 error.

I simply shut it down completely from taskbar and then reload it and it works fine again.

Obviously it's not an ideal solution as you dont want to have to contantly check expresstalk to make sure it's working correctly.

I think best bet is to migrate to a different softphone. The cost of softphones is quite prohibitvie, I'm wondering whether I should just get a new hardphone

We don't recommend the NCH express talk software as it doe cause issue with registration.

We would recommend Acrobits, as this has the Voipfone configuration built in, so you just select Voipfone, add your user detail and thats it.
