Trouble configuring Snom 370

#1
Hello

I have been handed a Snom 370 to use instead of my trusty 300 (a mate is closing down his business so i've bagged some of his kit :) ).

I have attempted to configure it with my account information identical to my existing phone, however i've obviously missed something as it has no dial tone :(
In the system info i see the following

I have a virtual pbx so am configuring it to be the same as my working snom 300.
Even when i turn off my existing phone and force the 370 to reregister i still get no joy.

Firmware is 7.3.14

You've got a phone with a password already set in it which you don't know, so you'll need to do a factory reset.

On the phone, press setting, scroll to maintenence, select reset values (tick).

It'll ask for a PIN, it's 0000

that will reset so that you can use wizard - if you get stuck call 020 7043 5555.

Okay that sort of did the trick.
I had to use the TFTP recovery flash option as mentioned on the Snom website as the password was obviously not 0000.
Once done i then used your link which has got me a long way towards nirvana - as i have a virtual PBX i will need to point it to the correct extension.

... however..

Should i concerned with the message "HTTP Password Not Set" message that is showing on the phone's screen?

Regards

If you have a private LAN with people on it you trust, it's fine.

The phone is just being security conscious and recommending you set a password to prevent the phone being accessed via the web interface by someone who could do things they shouldn't

Ah, so a son that is currently going through his 'hacking' phase is probably one to watch-out for :)
