Linksys PAP2T Adaptor vs. dedicated VIOphone (sound quality)

#1
Hi,

I'm interested in buying a phone for use with Voipfone. While there are some good phones available, a partial hearing loss tends me towards using a Geemarc Amplidect 250 combined with a Linksys PAP2T Adaptor.

(The Geemarc has a lot of features aimed at the deaf or hard of hearing.)

Anyway, I was wondering if using a conventional phone with an adapter might in any way reduce the call quality, as opposed to using a dedicated VIOP phone like the Siemens Gigaset C475IP.

Or would it really make no real difference?

I doubt whether a person with even normal hearing could detect a difference in sound quality between an adapter with a reasonable hanset attached and the Siemen's dect phone so I suggest that the additional support you will get from the specialised phone would be your best choice.

(Although we don't know that phone at all so we can't really say how it will work with VoIP)

That's excellent, just the response I was hoping for.

That seems fair enough, I've no experience of using Geemarc phones but if I could pair the 250 successfully with an adapter, that would be the best of all worlds for me.

Thanks,
