S450 call transfer

#1
Hi,

I can't figure out how to transfer calls (to a different voip extension, rather than handset) with the S450. The siemens site seems to imply that this is possible but isn't very clear on how to do it.

I've changed the DTMF over voip setting as described here and I'm guessing the transfer code should be:

R <new> <hang>

but that just makes some beeping noises on the line. I've also tried the ## sequence described on another thread, with similar results.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rob

While in a call press 'Ext. Call' (top left soft key) type the number you want to transfer to, and press call. Inform the person you're transferring to of who the caller is. Press 'Options' (top right soft key), choose 'Call Transfer' in the menu.

Hello, I have been trying to do the same thing so though to write here rather than start a new thread. Just yesterday I had an unwanted sales call and I wanted to tranfer this to the great "166" extension. However, I pressed "Ext. Call" which put the caller on hold, typed in "166" and then "send". A message came up on the phone saying "Not Possible!" and took me back to the original caller. I did not have the choice of "Options" and "Call Transfer", only "send" after I had pressed "Ext. Call".

Any help available with this please?

Thanks.

Is your default line set to the fixed line or VoIP?

It sounds like it's set to fixed line.

well deduced. yes, it is set to fixed line for default. The handset is in the home, so I try to keep it simple for home users who use the fixed line - i.e. single press of dial button, like most phones. For me to use the IP line (business calls), I press and hold the dial button.

This problem is also for transfers to normal phone numbers, not just the extension numbers.

Is this a problem for all call transfers?

Thanks for the prompt reply.

When you call 166 etc. it'll try to call it via the fixed line - which it cannot do.

If you put your call on hold then dial the number you want to call with a * on the end it should send it out via IP and give you the option of transfer

Ah ha - genius. By adding the "*" at the end of numbers, that seems to work well.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
