The S450 shows up on the screen 'For Fixed Line' or 'For IP1'

You can change those names too... So it can show 'For Home' 'For Work' - for example.

Not sure about the C460IP I'm afriad.

Having been using a skype dualphone for the last few years, I am now free of skype so that phone is now defunct. As a happy voipfone customer I bought myself a nice shiny new S450IP which arrived yesterday.

I am still working through all the settings, but this one change you mention would be nice. I've looked and looked again at all the menus, but just can't see where I cange this. Rather than "fixedline" and "IP", I would like "home" for fixed line and "Work" for VOIP.

Can you provide information how this can be edited?

If you login to the phones web interface you can change more options.

To get into the web interface on your PC please follow these steps:

1. On the Siemens handset press: Menu, 5, 5, 6, [enter the default PIN 0000] - Press OK

2. Make a note of the IP you see on the screen, disregarding any starting zeros. For example -

If you see 192.168.001.002 - note down 192.168.1.2. If you see 010.000.000.002 - note down 10.0.0.2.

3. Visit the IP address you see in a web browser on your computer, Internet Explorer for example. It should look something like this in your address bar: http://192.168.1.2

Thanks.

I have accessed the web configurator and under Telephony / Connections, I have edited the name of IP1 and the Fixed Line connection (Work & Home). Whilst this is now updated in the web configurator (I tried loggin out and back in and new settings still there), the phone handset has not updated to reflect this. It is still showing FixedLine and IP in the bottom left and right of the screen.

Any further advice?

Please reboot the base and the handset.

Also, you can check in the web interface under 'Miscellaneous' you could select 'Update Firmware' to ensure the phone has the latest firmware
