UT Starcom F3000 Handset

#1
Hi Folks,

I seem to remember reading a while back (although it may have been another handset, and I'm confused!) that the UT Starcom F3000 doesn't support locked networks, only open ones. Is this true? If so, can anyone recommend another, nice-looking, WiFi handset that I can buy?

Also, can it be configured with more than one voip account? I have an account with VoxIP in Mexico and so want to use that account when I'm in the UK and calling my girlfriend back home!

Finally, I'm having difficulty getting the VoxIP 'technical support' guys (I'm using the term 'technical support' in it's loosest possible form here!!) to understand what I mean when I say I need the configuration settings. Exactly what do I need to ask for in order to configure another device? If someone could give me the settings for configuring voipfone with the F3000 I can translate that for my VoxIP account.

Tim,

I bought one of these..... they are not too bad. UI have been reviewing it as I have been going along.

They are ok, but in all honnesty i dont think I would go for another one and if this one keeps going like it is its not going to make the warranty expiry date anyway!

If you got any questions I'll be happy to help. Just don't ask me about VoIP, i know so little about that i'd bore you trying to talk about it, but we all have to learn sometime!

I have always used netgear routers, but everyone here thinks they are a bit poo i think, never had any real issues with them and tec support have been helpful.

I would say tho that i personally did not fancy there VoIP handset offering, but thats just my opinion.

I can't really offer you any alternatives as i have not really tried anything much else.

I would hope someone else can suggest... i dont know is Snom or Grandstream do anything?
