For what it's worth; we like them a lot, they've proven to be very popular and we can't remember ever having one returned. Good price too.

Snoms seem to be the most widely recommended VoIP phones amongst most ITSPs, and with good reason: they're well made, reliable, and well tested by the ITSPs with their systems. The 300 is at a good price too, Voipfone seem to offer the lowest price on it in the UK.

We haven't got any 300s here (though we do have 3 x 320s and 16 x 190s). I'd go for the Elmeg 290 (the rebadged Snom 190) myself, but that's only because we have a bunch of 190s already.

If I didn't have to worry about boring stuff like standardising on admin procedures, I'd go for the Snom 300 like a shot.

Well, based on the above, I took the plunge and bought one.

Up and running in a few minutes, no problem. It works fine.

Only one minor issue so far: the external power supply unit gets VERY hot. I wonder how it will fare in the next heatwave.

IMO SNOM phones are the only phones to use. We use them exclusively now having worked with most phones. I even prefer them to the Cisco kit. I have all SNOM phones live and on test networks and can recommend the 300, 320 and 360 and even the soft phone.

The server config deployment for SNOM is amazing and if you configure a DHCP, TFTP and HTTP server with MAC reservation the complete phone can be controlled over the net and centrally managed. A simple config change and quick call to sipsak and you can have a config changed in seconds. SNMP is also great for checking on status etc.

Sorry to rave on but I cant praise SNOM enough :)

Well I am using a snom 300 and I like it a lot, easy to setup and it has a lot of functions and options. Have not had any registration failures and call quality is great to boot, don't know how hot the power supply get's as I never touched it since it's been installed hower I will check later and post back on that one.

My advice is to grab one quick, I can even say the price that voipfone are selling this at is very reasonable so no need to shop around because you will not find one much cheaper and don't forget voipfone even pre-configure it for you for use with their service. :)

Overall a big thumbs up from me!

Addition: Forgot to mention, it is also safe to upgrade to the latest firmare version which is currently 6.2.3 it works perfectly with voipfone.

Final Edit: I can confirm that the adaptor does get hot.

I have received my snom 300 today from voipfone - only ordered it yesterday so that's quick delivery. Preset with account details which was a great help as I am not the world's best at setting things up. Had some problems with the firewall on my router so emailed support - had a reply straight away and then someone called me and sorted it out!

What amazing service and I am delighted to have finally got away from the hassle of other voip companies.

So if you are thinking of getting the snom 300 don;t hesitate - excellent price and great features!

Thanks voipfone!

Stephen :D
