network preformance today (Tuesday 23rd May)

#1
Both I and 2 different clients experienced problems this afternoon on totally separate networks and connectivity:

My SNOM went NR for about 20 minutes and the sound quality was poor for most of the afternoon.

The other users report that their calls were cut short during the afternoon.

Of course, it may not be anything to do with VoipFone - but if you saw anything similar, it might be worth noting down?

Edmund

Call quality of some calls today where reported as a little poor by our users.

Description of problem from users where "ring ring then screech" in the background, heard at our end only, not callers.

Calls where PSTN originated

We have nod had any reports of any quality issues but if what you are saying is correct this would indicate a possible provider issue rather than a service issue could i ask that you contact support with some example numbers so that we can investigate further.

I have had similar problems today as well.

We have had calls dropping out after 5 - 10 seconds

#8
All afternoon !!!!!! calls dropping out, being cut off etc about 5 to 10 seconds, no ammused!, Just tested it and again its still dropping off.

I do have a present all calls diverted to my Orange mobile, but even in the office when using my pap2 it was doing the same thing cutting off my calls at about 5 seconds.

checked netwrk etc all ok, this would also not affect my diverted calls so its not my comms.

Help!! why the sudden problems.
at present i am unable to use the phone at all its just a ringing device as i can't talk to anyone.

Matthew

REF Calls dropping etc

It may be a complete fluke but......

I just logged into my voipfone account and removed my divert then submited the change then changed it back to divert to my Orange mobile it now seems to be working and the calls are lasting!!!!!!!!

Or has Voipfone or Orange or the universal clever person fixed this!!!

regards

Matthew

Does the VoipFone network monitor call completion & termination per provider?
I wonder if it is possible to detect when a provider has dropped a call rather than then one of the end points?

If so, it might be a useful metric to measure reliability outside the VoipFone network itself? what do you think?

What other metrics could you measure?
