I've just tried this on my Elmeg 290 and unofrtunately it doesn't work - says "wrong image - aborted".

I wonder what's going on. The phone was on version 3.60j before.

Elmeg gave us a firmware update yesterday.

If you bought the phone from us it will be automatically installed by powering down your phone and powering it back up 10 seconds later. [The phone must be attached to your LAN of course when you do this.]

Please let us know how this update performs.

The upgrade can also be downloaded from here http://www.voipfone.co.uk/ip290-3.61.1-SIP-j.bin

Elmeg 290 Firmware - New Version Released

#8
Well just downloaded the new firmware and same problem, wrong image and then re-loads the previous image file.... also tried powering down for 10 secs, (as support advised to do) it did go to check config on power up and on checking config it stated on display Snom 190 yet the phones say Elmeg 290 on labelling and were bought from Voipfone, so whats going on guys... Reply from Voipfone support is needed I think, as your last comments stated:

With the new elmegs only the elmeg firmware can be used as far as we are aware the snom 190 firmware remains unchanged

What firmware am I supposed to be using ? and also, I am getting registration dropouts on both of the Snom/Elmeg teles I have and before you ask, there is nothing in o/g proxy.

Regards

Dave

Sounds like you have an older hardware version so you are able to use the snom 190 firmwares on your elmeg

Managed to download update 3.60x from Snom, but have had to disable auto-update from tele as kept on re-loading old version on re-boot. All appears to be quite stable at present.

We've downloaded and installed the ip290-3.61.1-SIP-j.bin firmware onto our Elmeg 290 but we're still getting NR (Twice in the last 30 minutes since upgrading the firmware).

Also, this firmware does not work in the snom 190 phones. You get a 'wrong image - aborting' message if you try.

Since downloading latest update for Snom 190... version 3.60x I have had no problems at all with the phone losing registration... I have 2 Snom 190 teles and only put the upgrade on 1 of the teles, didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket, but as all appears to be ok I am going to upgrade the other... will do a post if any probs show up.

Dave.
