Zoiper - Softphone Download & Setup Guide

Zoiper is a SIP compatible software application supplied by zoiper.com

We have tested Zoiper free version 2.21 on a windows based computer and have confirmed it works. We have not tested other versions or tested it on other computer platforms.

We can offer basic configuration settings for Zoiper, but our support is limited on this product. It's a third party application which is in no way related to iNet Telecoms Ltd (Voipfone). You use it at your own risk, we are not responsible for any issues you may incur and do not guarantee the application will work with all computer configurations.

Setup for single users (ie not using our PBX service)
1. Download and run the software with all its default settings
2. If the Windows security box pops up, click 'unblock'
3. Go to your desktop and double click on the Zoiper icon
4. Open the settings page by clicking on the little spanner icon
5. Click 'Add new SIP account'
6. Enter your name (anything)
7. Domain = sip.voipfone.net
8. Username = 3XXXXXXX (your 8 digit Voipfone account number beginning with 3)
9. Password = XXXXXX (your 6 digit password)
10. Caller ID the name you wish people to see when you call them
11. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'
Your phone should now say registered - try calling 152

Setup for users using our PBX service
1. Download and run the software with all its default settings
2. If the Windows security box pops up, click 'unblock'
3. Go to your desktop and double click on the Zoiper icon
4. Open the settings page by clicking on the little spanner icon
5. Click 'Add new SIP account'
6. Enter your name (anything)
7. Domain = sip.voipfone.net
8. Username = Your account number and extension with a * in between. eg 3xxxxxxx*2xx You can check your extensions here https://www.voipfone.co.uk/account.php#view-pbx
9. Password = XXXXXX (your 6 digit password for the extension you're setting up - You can find here https://www.voipfone.co.uk/account.php#view-pbx )
10. Caller ID the name you wish people to see when you call them
11. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'
Your phone should now say registered - try calling 152


Other Settings

'STUN server - Discover server' should be 'off'

The default codec used is GSM - you can change this to a higher quality one by clicking on the spanner again and under 'audio codec' change it to a-law.

Not registering or inbound calls not working? - Add the outbound Proxy

If you've set up the phone but it's not registering or you're having problems receiving calls / problems with audio please fill out the outbound proxy setting:

1. Click on the spanner icon
2. Tick 'show advanced options' at the bottom left
3. Click on the profile you've set up under 'SIP Accounts'
4. Tick 'Use outbound proxy' and fill out sip.voipfone.net into the outbound proxy box.
5. Click apply, then OK.

Hi

Out of 10 incoming calls approx 6/7 go straight to voicemail.

Any ideas on fixing this?

Apart from this issue this phone is very good.

Your phone should now say registered
By which you mean what exactly? Speak it? Display it somewhere in the main window?

I don't see or hear the word "registered" at any point after following all your instructions.

Both SJPhone and Sip Communicator work perfectly on my computer, but this product does not work at all.

I believe the links in post 1 for Mac and Linux software downloads are the wrong way round - .dmg files are for Macs, .linux.tar files for Linux.

I've just tried this and whenever I try and make a call I get Number Unavailable (480) .
What does this mean? The number is properly formatted and I've tried landlines and mobiles, still same error.

I'm using the country code +44 in front as normal.

software is fair enough but on my win 7 its problematic, should I switch to win 8 or 10 ? .. :(
