Voipfone Managed Broadband Router Settings

Please note, some routers cannot be used with our service. BT and Sky often prevent their routers from being used with other providers. If you're migrating please ensure you have a compatible router ready.

Go to your router's web page by typing its IP address into the browser of a PC connected to it.

If you don't know what this is consult your user manual or try clicking the links below.

On your router general, basic or ADSL settings page(s) make a note of the existing settings (or save them to your PC or print them).

Enter your login name and password which we emailed you.

Voipfone's general settings are then:

Standard or Pro packages ordered after 11 January 2011
  • Does your connection need a logon? - yes
    Encapsulation- PPPoA
    Login- from the email we sent you
    Password- from the email we sent you
    Internet IP Address- Get automatically from ISP
    Domain Name Server- Get automatically from ISP
    (or use static if you know it)
    NAT- enable
    Multiplexing Method- VC BASED
    VPI- 0
    VCI- 38
    DSL Mode- Auto (multi-mode)

LLU Broadband ordered before 11 January 2011
  • Does your connection need a logon? - yes
    Encapsulation- PPPoE / RFC 2684 Bridged
    Login- from the email we sent you
    Password- from the email we sent you
    Internet IP Address- Get automatically from ISP
    Domain Name Server- Get automatically from ISP
    (or use static if you know it)
    NAT- enable
    Multiplexing Method- LLC BASED
    VPI- 0
    VCI- 101
    DSL Mode- Auto (multi-mode)
Save the settings and test to see if you have a connection.

Sometimes you will need to physically reboot your router for the changes to take effect and sometimes you need to wait 5 minutes or so for everything to start to talk to each other.
