I am about to go on a two week holiday to the Maldives. I have a number of calls I will need to make while I'm out there to the UK. I just found out my mobile provider, Vodafone, charge about £1.60 a minute for this.

Has anyone come across an alternative method of calling the UK from the US at a fraction of the call cost?

I know there are certain numbers you can call and you then get a dial tone to re-dial your number from there. I'm just not aware of any services that do this.

Any help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

The very cheapest way is to buy a cheap pay-go SIM card when you get there so that you have a local number and use our callback service so you get our rates which are 26.8p per minute.
