I am trying out X-Lite using a USB headset on my Windows XP laptop with Voipfone, as an alternative to my handset and Linksys VoIP adapter.

I would like to have the PC audio output default to its speakers, use the headset for phonecalls, BUT with the ringtone on the speakers.

On X-Lite, Menu-system settings-speaker audio device, it only offers Default or the PC soundcard & speakers (the USB headset doesn't appear). How can I send VoIP sound to headset, the VoIP ringtone to the speakers and the normal PC audio output to speakers ?

Very easy. Just go to Options -> Devices -> Ring Device

You may change your Ring Device from USB Headset to PC Audio (whatever sound card your PC has). You may change Speaker Phone and Headset settings there too.

If you can't see that option then you might want to download and new version of X-lite or replace X-lite altogether with free SJphone
