 snom firmware updates
Some people are updating their snom firmware to v6.5.2 - please don't do this as this is a buggy release that causes call transfer and other problems.
The last recommended release is 6.2.3 and this is the one we auto-provision.
If you are having problems with your snom please downgrade (or upgrade) to this release.

Any chance of an update on the updates?
The latest SNOM sw fixes various bugs - plus it offers wireless headset support.
I have always found SNOM very helpful - I'm sure if you outlined the issues you are having, they will come-up with fixes for you.
Ta very much.

I'm told by the SNOM UK distributors that 6.2.3 is really buggy - and I have had problems with it.
6.5.8 seems to be fine - apart from one non-critical bug that SNOM says they will fix in the next update.
6.5.2 was giving me problems with putting callers on hold.
Would really like your guidance on this

We're still only officially supporting v6.2.3. We have tested 6.5.2 and didn't like it. We haven't yet tested 6.5.8
If you use that version and it works for you that's fine - please post any problems you have here.

Thanks.
I had terrible problems with 6.2.3 and 6.5.2.
6.5.8 seems very stable - just a small bug with the redirection function that SNOM say they will fix.
We have 25 users.

Any news on testing later firmware versions than 6.2.3, or is that still the latest supported version?
Thanks

What's the latest supported firmware for the Snom 3xx series?
Are you supporting any of the version 7 firmware releases yet?

Officially, it's still v6.x.x but we're all now using v7.1.30 ourselves without problems.

Hi there,
Is there any advantage to updating to latest firmware? (7.1.30)
Prior warnings about flaky firmware updates (e.g. 6.5.2) meant we never updated our SNOM 360s which I think are on 6.5.1 (bought November 2006 from Voipfone).
We do get occassional glitches, but nothing that we can't fix by powering the phone off for a few minutes, then restarting.

Good question - i'm only running the Snom 300 at present, but not noticed anything different in the functionality (yet)
I suppose i ought to read through the release notes.

Yep - I have 7.1.30 on 100 SNOM 300's with no problems.
There were some issue with 7.1.33, and SNOM put it on hold. But it's now been re-released I think, but I've not tried it.
Secret is to get a stable version and then stick with that - until you are sure the upgrade works OK and that you really need it. Otherwise you are opening a can of worms.
