In the Voipfone user manual it states that it's possible to make an unattended transfer, so that when you diver the call the call is put straight though. However, I'd like to know if it's possible to make attended transfers, so that if I were to transfer a call I would first be able to speak to the person I'm trying to transfer the call to and have the option to route the call or go back to the caller to announce the other person cannot take their call.

I also have another question. The only phones you sell are Snom, but I'd like to be able to have a choice of handset to include other main brands. If I chose a handset from another brand and not purchasing directly from Voipfone, how easy would it to set up my account on the phone? Would Voipfone give me guidance over the phone or would I have to contact the phone manufacturer?

Our network supports attended transfers as a feature on your handset. If the phone you use has the option it should work for you.

Our knowledge on different products can vary, there's thousands of SIP phones out there which will work on our network. We sadly don't know them all as well as the phones we recommend. We will do all we can to assist you with getting other phones working, there is only so far we can go though with some devices and you may require help from the manufacture too.

Thank you. Which combination of keys are required in order to carry out an attended transfer?

You have an awful lot of questions :-)

Why not give us a call tomorrow 020 7043 5555 and we'll knock them all off at once.

Did you ever get an answer to this?

I have exactly the same question.

I too would like to speak to the person I am transferring the call to before putting them through (or perhaps going back to the caller to deal with them myself). At the moment the transfer function on the phone just puts the call straight through without any introduction.

I am using a set of Snom D715's.

You can do an attended transfer on a snom by:

Pressing a spare line key - that'll automatically pop the active call on hold and allow you to make another.
Dial the new number and speak to them.

You can then either press the Xfer / Transfer button to complete the transfer or you can swap between the calls by pressing the reverent line keys. You can also press the cross key on an active call then return to the held call with the relevant line key.
