 Exceeding the 50gb limit
I'm currently with BT for my sins, with their "Total Broadband" package. Last month we exceeded the 50gb limit (hit 80GB apparently) for the first (and only) time, and they have kindly ticked us off and said we will be "speed restricted during peak times" if it happens again.
We run our consulting business from home (we are rural and very remote, at the end of the exchange limit). Not only do we have 3 IP phones, but we also make extensive use of VPN connections to client sites, and video conferencing. Our son also likes to game online with his XBox, and stream audio etc. So we think that this sort of useage is not out of the ordinary or unusal. The problem is, if BT do decide to through the limiter on us it will severly hamper our legitimate business.
I note from the Voipfone broadband blurb that you too impose a 50gb cap on your "unlimited" package, stating that this is a industry standard for maximum use. I had thought about switching suppliers to your service, but wonder what penalties would be imposed on any excessive use? Do you provide other packages which have genuine unlimited use?
Cheers
Barry

 Re: Exceeding the 50gb limit
Unfortunately our service is the same, if you go over the 50GB limit then your service will be contended at a higher rate at peak times of the day. Unfortunately this cannot be changed with our services either. We dont currently offer an unlimited usage service.
