I dont use a softphone, and all I use voipfone for is diverting a geographic number to my mobile, for business.
This works fine, but im struggling how to get this working with voicemail. I do not want to use my mobile operators voicemail service, and right now, calls ring for an absololute age (30 seconds or more I think?) before the call ends. I want voipfones voicemail to pick it up after 7 or 8 seconds, or if I reject the call on my mobile. I dont seem to be able to do this.
I switched from another service provider which worked well in this manner, because the diversion to mobiles was cheaper. If I cant get voicemail to work as one would expect I think I'll have to move again
p.s. I emailed support prior to signing up, about the availability of geo numbers, and neve got a response. Also I see that there is an aweful lot of posts on this forum that are unanswered... Is voipfones support non-existant? have I made a mistake? |

Firstly this is a user forum - it's here so that people can help each other out. We don't know everything about every piece of equipment and third party service but someone here will. So we don't always - or even usually - answer questions here. But we do if we notice them.
We answer ALL emails we receive and we try to do it it within an hour of receipt during normal business hours unless we have to refer it to our engineers.
I'm sorry you don't seem to have received an answer from us but if you didn't it was because we either didn't get the original question or you didn't receive our reply. If you don't get an answer to a simple question within 24 hours something has gone wrong and you should resend it.
To answer your question. We don't at the moment do a divert after a user controlled number of rings or seconds - but we will at some point. When people want to do that we normally recommend they use a telephone like the snom which can be configured to do it.
Whether your calls go to voicemail when you reject a call depends a lot on how your mobile network reacts to your request and what instruction it sends back. Some disconnect the call, some return busy - it's trial and error I'm afraid.
If you email support from your registered address we can investigate it. _________________ Regards
