|
|
This is my first post, so I hope I have got the etiquette right - I really need your help.
Windows XP
Draytek Vigor 2600VG
Voipfone
About a month ago Voipfone changed their network and instructed users to modify the SIP proxy from voipfone.co.uk to sip.voipfone.co.uk
Ever since I did this I have been able to make outgoing calls, but incoming calls don't ring and go straight to voicemail.
Voipfone's forum http://www.voipfoneuserforum.com/viewtop ic.php?t=1299 mentions this issue and says:
Note: Normally the switch to the new network is straightforward, however if you do experience problems (calls going directly to voicemail or calls being cut off for example) you may have a NAT firewall problem. Just add
nat.voipfone.co.uk:5065
as your Outbound Proxy.
You may need to consult your manual to do this, otherwise email support at voipfone.co.uk
[This is a reported issue with the Vigor 2600VG VoIP router]
I can't understand exactly what this means for my Router settings. Newer models of the Draytek routers have SIP Port / Domain / Proxy / Outbound Proxy/ but mine just has SIP Port / Registrar.
Voipfone's "helpline" has been unable to help me for over three weeks.
Does anyone have any ideas what I have to do to sort it out ?
Thanks in advance

Which version of the 2600VG firmware are you running, I have a 2600V here and it is working perfectly. Let me know if I can help at all.

Firmware is v2.5.5.3_UK - I am not certain that is the latest but the Router booklet and the Set Up Menus and Help and not very easy to understand. I remember struggling to update the firmware last time I tried.
What settings do you have in the fields called "SIP Port" and "Registrar" ?
Or maybe you are on a later version of firmware which provides different fields.

Thanks for all the information.
When I tried to do the firmware update, I suddenly realised that my computer (a laptop) has only been connected by the Wireless network for some time and you have to be connected by Network cable to do the update.
Unless the cable itself is faulty (and it used to work fine), then I can't work out why the LAN connection should have stopped working.
GRRRR.
And I'm away from home for a couple of weeks, so I won't be able to track it down.
I'll let you know later how I get on.

I have eventually managed to update my router firmware to v2.5.8.3_uk but I had to do it over the wireless network, which was a bit of an adventure.
With the new firmware I now have different fields to complete in the SIP related function setup page. Can anyone tell me what values work successfully for voipfone ?
Thanks in advance
