Hi,
I was hoping somebody on here could perhaps help me with a small problem I'm having with my phone and voipfone. I am using a Siemens SL75 WLAN wifi handset in combination while I'm visiting a friend through his router. Everything works perfectly with several other SIP providers I've experimented with but when using voipfone I get no connection unless an outbound proxy is specified. When I specify the nat.voipfone.co.uk proxy in this Siemens handset it behaves rather oddly - incoming calls just keep ringing forever even when the other person has hung up, calls get cut off after 1 minute or so and outgoing calls sometimes don't go through. This behaviour is the same wherever I use this Siemens so it basically means I cannot use the nat proxy. At home I don't need any proxy at all so luckily everything works fine - the problem is because I NEED to use an outbound proxy with my friends connection.
So, to solve this problem I've put sip.voipfone.co.uk as the outbound proxy but when the phone is set like this is loses it's registration every now and then plus if I'm making a long call I lose audio usually after about 15 minutes +/-. As a last resort I've put a random STUN server into the phones settings and this seems to make things better but still not perfect as I occasionally get the aforementioned symptoms.
I've forwarded ports 5000-5100 UDP/TCP & 3478 to the phone's IP and even put it in the DMZ but it seems to make no difference. The phone has an RTP start port of 5004. Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be? |
