|
|
Hi There,
My mobile phone and Outlook contacts are synchronised.
As I am out of the UK quite regularly, every UK phone number in my Outlook contacts (and my mobile phone) is prefixed with +44 for easy dialling while abroad.
e.g. For a Cambridge number "01223" it is "+441223"
When using the TAPI Plugin to call a UK number with the +44 prefix, the call is never connected, and after a few seconds I get the dial tone.
If I replace the +44 prefix with a 0 and use the TAPI Plugin to place the call it works perfectly fine every time.
Is there a setting that I need to change in Outlook to put this right, or do I have to change all of the numbers from a +44 prefix to a 00 prefix?
Many thanks,
Ian.

I just installed the TAPI plugin today and have the same problem. Does anyone know if this will be fixed? All of my numbers are pre-fixed with +44 +33 +1 etc..
Thanks

A fix for this would be very welcome as the +44 problem means the dialer is impossible to use for us - we would need to remove all the + prefixes and this would propogate to staff mobiles and mean they could not roam abroad without adding this back in.
Regards
Geoff. |

You could try adding the numbers as 0044 instead of +44 - that should do the trick.. _________________ Regards

| using 0044 probably wouldn't work in most other countries. 00 is the UK international dialing prefix, but it is not used in many other countries, hence the +, which tells the network 'access international routes' (this is an international convention)! |

Bins is correct in this matter, Voipfone please comment. This issue is standing in the way of us deploying the TAPI interface.
Cheers
